RWA Investor Checklist
A free checklist for researching tokenized real-world assets.
Use this checklist before researching any tokenized Treasury, stablecoin-yield product, tokenized fund, commodity token, credit pool, or real estate token.
Asset and claim
- Can I explain the underlying asset in one sentence?
- Does the token represent ownership, a fund interest, a receipt, debt exposure, or only platform exposure?
- Have I found the official terms, prospectus, disclosure page, or docs?
- Do I understand where the yield comes from?
Issuer and legal structure
- Who is the issuer?
- Where is the entity registered?
- Who can buy, hold, transfer, and redeem the token?
- What happens if transfers or redemptions are paused?
Custody and reserves
- Who holds the off-chain assets?
- Are there reserve reports, attestations, audits, or public dashboards?
- How often are reserves updated?
- Are the assets segregated from issuer assets?
Liquidity and redemption
- Where does the token trade?
- How deep is real liquidity?
- What are the redemption windows, fees, and minimums?
- Does liquidity depend on one venue or market maker?
On-chain risk
- Did I verify the contract address from an official source?
- Are there audits, admin keys, upgrade permissions, pause controls, bridge risks, or oracle dependencies?
- Is the token used as collateral in DeFi?
Rule of thumb: if a product cannot answer most of these questions clearly, it belongs on a watchlist, not in a portfolio.
